Miss Carival is the oldest and most prestigious beauty pageant in the Caribbean region. Established
some 29 years ago by the Carnival Development Committee (CDC) of Saint
Vincent and the Grenadines, this event is one of the main items staged at carnival city, Victoria Park. The pageantry draws participants from within the Caribbean and its Latin neighbour Venezuela.
The competition is usually staged one week prior to the carnival celebrations locally know as "Vincy Mas." The competitors are judged in the following main categories: swimwear, evening wear, talent, interview.
This year's competition was held last evening June 29, 2013. Host country Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was represented by Miss SVG 2013, Shara George who earned the 2ND Runner Up title and was judged best swimwear. Miss St Kitts, Zinga Imo took the 1ST Runner Up spot. As many predicted during the show, it was Miss Dominica who stole the spotlight giving an exceptionally well account of herself by dominating best evening wear, best interview, Miss photogenic, and best talent. Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines standing to the left and Miss St Kitts and Nevis to the right of the reigning Miss Dominica - Miss Carival 2013.

Some suggested the change of the date to an earlier time may have hampered the crowd since this time does not cater to the majority of Vincentians arriving during carnival week from overseas.
